Thanks for the post. The track labelled “Likambo Na Moto Te” is actually a Kikongo song called “Kimpa Kisangameni”. Nowadays it’s not uncommon to find retrcds with wrong track titles.

Great tape, Thanks! However, On side A, the first song is not ‘Mario’, but ‘Response de Mario’. The hidden song is on this side, and is 12,600 Lettres. ‘Mario’ was Franco’s most popular song and is the story of a young educated man who rather than earn a living, has chosen to live off older lovers, whilst mistreating them. ‘Response de Mario’ is the reply of Mario to these allegations.
12,600 Lettres with its refrain ‘Bandeko ya basi’ is a song about the tendency of sisters of married men to mistreat their brothers wives. The tendency is condemed, and followed up with examples of it from particular cases in Congo, Congo Brazzaville, Gabon, Cameroun and Togo. A great gem which takes it tiltle from the number of letters that Franco says he received complaining about this mistreatment of wives at the hands of their husbands sisters.
