This cassette of atmospheric dance tracks from Malian kamele n’goni ninja Issa Bagayogo, who is very well known across the world, may not be for everyone. But I really like the way it’s produced, you can call me a euro world beat enthusiast or whatever. I don’t care. Go ahead and buy it at Amazon.

Thank you for this tape, the sound is much cleaner than the album on CD.

For me the best album of Issa B. is Timbuktu, but this copy of SYA, has made me enjoy.

In 1999 the folklore of Mali took a new leap, Issa Bagayogo, Ramata Diakite, Mamou Sidibé along with guitarist Moussa Kone and the producer Yves Wernet, introduced electronic at its albums,each one collaborated in the work of the others and opened a new door.

We listen to Issa at the entrance of the Ramata Diakité song Na.

Saw about the party in Williamsburg on the nonsenselist (which I monitor from my tent in the Sahara). I’ve got some great tapes from Kidal — the Tamashek record cassettes live and make copies; no official production. Makes hunting them down even more exciting. I’ll be sending you some once I get to Timbouctou in Jan.! Good luck on the gig!
