The Shebeen Masters– Nomoro Ke Yona

You won’t find this tape of this mid school South African kwaito on Discogs or almost anywhere else for that matter. I somehow have two copies, been djing a few of these tracks.

Shebeens were the township bars that Africans created and visited during Apartheid, when there were draconian restrictions on drinking and being in town after hours if you weren’t white. Music often got tested out first on shebeen crowds before being distributed to the country at large.
