Tiken Jah Fakoly - We Love Africa

Tiken Jah Fakoly – Françafrique

Best African reggae right now. (RIP, Lucky Dube.)

Purchase this album for real. The CD has a slightly different tracklisting.

The New York Times recently reported the Mali-based, Ivory Coast-born musician-agitator was barred from entering Senegal after talking shit about its president. Nice.

Tiken Jah Fakoly is amazing! I saw him in concert in Burkina Faso in 1999, and he ruled the place.

i’m SAYING. lucky you got to see him! the soccer stadium in Segou, Mali has this impressive (and enormous) mural of him on an outer wall. i recall one night hearing this tape run straight through twice over tepid beers in a Timbuktu backyard bar. i asked the guy what the music was and then realized i had heard this album non-stop when i was in burkina.
